The Customer

Find Your Paws is an online pet marketplace connecting dog and cat breeders with buyers in the UK. They position themselves as a solution to the illegal pet trade by providing a transparent, safe platform for reputable breeders to list and sell puppies and kittens directly to customers.

The Problem

Find Your Paws had an initial version of their website that had successfully proven the concept and was close to launch. As they prepared to open the marketplace to real breeders and buyers, it became clear they needed to move onto infrastructure built for scale and add the additional functionality a live marketplace requires to protect both sides of the transaction. They came to us for a partner who could take them from early-stage build to a production-grade platform ready for growth.

The Solution

We rebuilt the application on Next.js with a mostly server-side-rendered architecture on our scalable stack, delivering substantially faster page loads and 100% across all Google Lighthouse categories in Chrome, including SEO. We added two-layer moderation and profanity management — in-browser checks using third-party libraries for fast client-side filtering, plus AI moderation using LLMs to scan both images and text server-side.

We built flexible billing and plan management into their admin interface, giving them full control over subscription models, post length limits, and post quotas per plan. Finally, we integrated S16 Platform's CMS service to power their blog and customisable content areas, empowering their marketing team to manage content directly.
